People's Memorial Association (PMA)is a non-profit funeral consumer organization that was formed in 1939 to promote simple, dignified, economical cremation or burial. Lifetime membership fee is $25 and entitles members to significant discounts at contracted funeral homes. Members also receive a packet of funeral planning paperwork. PMA provides consumer education to the general public through its website and through public educational materials. Every two years, PMA produces a survey of funeral home prices in Western and Central Washington state to enable consumers to make informed choices.
